Why you should hire an E-bike!

It’s safe to say that cycling has recently seen a huge rise in popularity. This has been no different for E-bikes with many people seeing their benefit and cycling places, distances and hills they normally wouldn’t. 

Here in the Conwy Valley, at the foothills of Eryri and just down the road from Betws-y-Coed (‘the gateway to Snowdonia’), it is safe to say there are a fair few steep hills. In fact, Llanrwst and Trefriw are home to, arguably, the two hardest short cycling climbs in the UK (Cowlyd and Afon Ddu). On those slopes you will find national hill climb competitors regularly putting themselves through hell!

Here at Snowdonia Bikes, we like to enjoy the ascent and there’s no better way than on an electric bike. Simply turn up the power to high, keep those pedals going and it’s plain sailing to the top. Having said this, there is no doubt that you still get a workout on an E-bike but gruelling hills are made fun! With many beauty spots being located up high, an electric bike makes getting to these locations easy. Places such as Llyn Geirionydd, Llyn Crafnant, Nebo and Llyn Elsi are all at the top of steep hills……hire an E-bike and you can tick a few of these off in a day!
