Cafes, coffee shops and places to eat.

The best cafes, coffee shops and places to eat for cyclists in Snowdonia, North Wales - all near our bike rental in Llanrwst!

Now it’s fair to say that cycling can work up a bit of an appetite. Stopping at cafes is an almost essential part of any proper bike (and e-bike) ride and I believe coffee and cake act as the best cycle fuel.

Snowdonia and Conwy are blessed with many great places to eat and drink so we thought we would list a few cycle friendly places that can be included in a bike ride starting from our doorstep.

  1. Caffi Ffika - Our neighbours serve up all kinds of goodness from burgers to bagels to banoffee brownies. They also know how to make a coffee with their very experienced baristas giving lots of local road cyclists a much needed caffeine hit.

  2. The Ugly House - I’m not sure why this house is called the Ugly House? It may be a bit lumpy but I I like it. Heading out of Betws-y-Coed towards Snowdon you will find this petite cafe on the side of the road. Stop at this tearoom on your bike ride for a refreshment.

  3. Tir a Môr - This chippy is a minutes walk away from the shop. Not much better after-ride food than fish and chips? We have to say though, this one is a bit better than your standard fish and chip shop. Go and see for yourself!

  4. Hangin Pizzeria - Want stonebaked pizza in the beautiful surroundings of Betws-y-Coed. Look no further, this place is where it’s at.

  5. Gallt y Glyn - This one is a bit far away by bike but if you are heading back to somewhere around Llanberis after your ride then here is another great place to stop for pizza and a beer. Order a takeout and enjoy it sat next to Llyn Padarn, looking down towards Dolbadarn Castle and the mountains.

  6. The Old Ship - Fancy some good hearty pub grub in a beer garden? Stop in Trefriw, fill up and then enjoy the short and flat cruise back to our shop in Llanrwst.

  7. Ty Asha Balti serves up top-notch Indian food just round the corner from our shop, drop your bikes back in be sitting in front of a curry and a pint in no time! Once awarded the best curry house in Wales, we can’t wait for this place to be open again when restrictions allow.

Good food is essential during and after a day of activities and adventure, and I think that this list should have you covered. Bring your own packed lunch and your dining options are infinite. Some incredibly scenic picnic stops include Llyn Crafnant, Llyn Geiryonydd, Capel Curig, Betws-y-Coed, Nebo, Gwydir Forest and many more.

Come and rent one of our e-bikes and enjoy what North Wales has on offer.
